Despite the anticipation & excitement, fans were let down with the absence of ‘GTA VI’.
The Japanese tech company, SONY, laid out the red carpet for the next iteration of their iconic video game console — PlayStation 5, via live stream on YouTube.
SONY released the PlayStation (PS1) in 1994, exclusively in Japan initially and globally launched in 1995. The console was a huge success off the bat — selling more than two million units in Japan after six months on the market and 800,000 units in the first 4 months in the U.S.
Fast forward 26 years, PlayStation is now on their fifth generation — set to release later this year. Many viewers were anticipating release date, features, price and “Grand Theft Auto VI” ‘(GTA 6)’ — but never received any of that information.
SONY first showed us the gameplay and trailer for “GTA V” ‘(GTA 5)’ — which all PS5 owners will be able to claim for free for the first three months. Some of the other games displayed were “Spider-Man: Miles Morales,” “Resident Evil 8: Village,” “Demon’s Souls” and “Gran Turismo 7.” While we were watching, the chat box was exploding with “L”s from fans who were disliking the games being showcased and we also saw a lot of ‘GTA 6‘ comments — begging for a teaser.
It would be pretty cool to see some sports anime video games come out on the PS5. Let us know what games you want to see released!
