Imagine if the LEGO NES console x Super Mario rumors are true…
LEGO has been on a roll lately — dropping some more heat for us.
On Monday, the LEGO Group published a teaser video of what looks to be a buildable LEGO NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) video game console.
VJ Gamer, a video game news site based out of Hong Kong, leaked up-and-close photos of what looks like a 2,646-brick recreation of the ’80s console. Not only is it just the console, it also comes with a controller, cartridge and a retro TV set.
If this rumor is legit, this would be perfect for any Super Mario fan.
Based on the leaked imagery, there is a crank on the right side of the TV … which motions Mario and the brick background. According to VJ Gamer, this would most likely release sometime in August alongside the LEGO x Super Mario starter kit & expansion sets.
The NES console set reminds us of Brandon Jones’ creation that was published on his YouTube channel last year. Instead of the crank, his version was powered by a motor.
Both parties have been quite busy even during these unprecedented times. Last month, LEGO and Lamborghini released their Technic collab. And you can soon hang out with Koopa Troopa and Thwomp at Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan.
Wonder what’s next up for LEGO and Mario!
