Wanna go shred on a Studio Ghibli skate deck?
With Studio Ghibli announcing the release of their collectible skateboard decks … fans are getting excited to hit the half-pipe!
GBL Miyashita Park will be the first brick-and-mortar location for GBL — the Studio Ghibili-inspired clothing line.
The store will include a total of four decks — representing three of Miyazaki’s most famous films.
The first artwork is the Robot Warrior from Ghibli’s first official film, “Castle in the Sky.”

Next up is the No-Face character from “Spirited Away.” Fun fact! “Spirited Away” is the only anime that’s ever won an Oscar.

Last but not least, “My Neighbor Totoro” offers two boards to their fans. The first deck shown below is the famous Catbus (Nekobasu.) The second one has the storybook-style illustrations which appears in the opening of the film.

The dimensions of the boards are all identical — 80 centimeters (31.5 inches) long and 20.5 centimeters wide (8.1 inches) — and are priced at 12,000 yen or about $112 USD each. These Canadian Maple boards will be available on opening day of GBL Miyashita Park — July 28.
If you’re lucky enough to live in Japan, we recommend checking out the upcoming exhibit of the gigantic Gundam figure in Yokohama!
