This might be the coolest beer of the summer!
When Japanese quality beer and historic art collide, FUJISAN Premium Ale is what you get.
Mount Fuji, otherwise known as “Fuji-san” in Japan, is an iconic landmark that has made its way onto Asahi‘s special edition beer.
The premium ale consists of 100% Japanese ingredients including barley and hops. Even the rice used in this libation was grown in Japan, specifically in the fields of Mt. Fuji — watered by the streams underneath the active volcano.
And, to top it off, the manufacturing took place at a factory in Nagoya, Japan.
Not mentioning the graphics of the exterior would be a shame. Dating back to the Edo period (1603-1868) … “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” was published by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai.
This actually isn’t the first time the Japanese brewing company released the FUJISAN Premium Ale. The original version came out in the spring of 2019, but without ‘The Great Wave.’
Asahi stated that the 2020 edition are on sale now and exclusively sold by AEON retailers.
Not only is it a sharp-looking beer, with an ABV of 5.5% … you’ll surely get a buzz after slammin’ a few back!
If you’re unable to get your hands on FUJISAN, make sure to check your local asian supermarkets this summer for Shochu Highball aka Chu-Hi!
